Optime II has been developed for
demanding noise-hazard environments and muffles even extremely low
frequencies to a maximum degree.
The sealing rings are
filled with a unique combination of liquid and foam. The result is an
optimum seal with low contact pressure, which provides snug comfort even
during long-time use.
The sealing rings have
ventilation channels and are covered with soft, patterned, hygienic foil.
Optime III is a
super-muff, and has been developed for use in extremely noisy environments.
The protection is based
on a technology with a double casing that minimises resonance in the holder
casing. This results in maximum high-frequency muffling, while at the same
time its still easy to understand speech and signals.
An acoustic connection
between the inner volume and the volume between the casings in its turn
provides maximum low-frequency muffling.
The sealing rings are
broad and filled with soft plastic foam for the best fit and low contact
pressure.
Effective protection
and best comfort are the hallmarks of OpIII.

Durable stylish body
The IC-A6E design has incorporated the size and
durability of the IC-A3 and retains the basic user
friendly interface users loved about the IC-A5. The
Large LCD, large speaker and easy-to-use panel layout
makes it a rank above the rest. On the side of the
radio, it has a non-slip slit to prevent accidental
dropping
Large alphanumeric LCD
For the function display, a 6-character 14-segment
alphanumeric LCD is employed to make a variety of information visually recognizable immediately. An automatic
LCD backlight is standard for night time operation.
Channel recall
function
New for the IC-A6E, this function automatically
memorizes the last 10 used channels. You can easily
recall those channels by pushing recall buttons on the
front panel. It is very convenient for switching between
several channels at a time, such as NAV channels and COM
channels, etc.
Icom F series battery packs and case
The IC-A6E shares the same battery packs and case with
our popular land mobile radios IC-F11, F3G, F30G series.
Variety of battery types, Ni-Cd, Ni-MH, Li-Ion are
optionally selectable. The BP-208N, battery case is
avail able with 6 AA (LR6) alkaline cells as a backup
battery source. Uses N-type reinforced battery
packs/case.

Simultaneous operation and
charging from external power source
The IC-A6E has an external DC power jack for opera tion
with the AC adapter, BC-110, the optional cigarette
lighter cable with DC-DC converter, CP-20. When battery
pack is installed to the radio, it is also
simultaneously charged during operation. An external
11.0V DC power source is acceptable.
Dedicated 121.5MHz emergency key
A dedicated red emergency key programmed with a 121.5MHz
homing frequency is equipped to give you extra
confidence in the event of an emergency.
Large 200 memory channel capacity with memory
banks
A total of 200 memory channels can be named with a
6-character channel name for easy recognition. By
grouping these channels into 10 memory banks, quick and
easy operation is possible. The optional PC cloning
software, CS-A24 allows you quick and easy memory
management from your PC.
Water resistant, equivalent to IPX4
The water resistant construction provides reliable opera
tion in wet conditions. Equivalent to IPX4 of the
corresponding international standard IEC 60529 (2001).
Side Tone function
The side tone function allows you to hear your own voice
via a headset. By monitoring your own voice, this
function eliminates unnecessary shouting on a noisy
runway. Side tone level is adjustable from the
transceiver. Optional OPC-499 HEADSET ADAPTER CABLE and
external aviation headset are required.
Variety of scanning functions
The COM band scan checks all of the busy COM band
channels, and the memory scan checks the tagged memory
channels. Weather channel scan is also possible.
